FACTORY: State of the Art Machinery manned by a multi-skilled workforce

Urban VertiQuad

The Urban VertiQuad automatic sash welding system also incorporates precision computational control and welds the 4 corner joints of a 90° angle in one working cycle with the benefit of electronic positioning of the X and Y axes.

Assembly Bench

On the assembly bench the gearing such as shootbolts and espags are fitted to the vents. Additional routing can also be done on the assembly bench if required although the Stuga Flowline prepping machine takes care of all routing.

Hanging Bench

On the hanging benches is where the various parts of the frame come together. Stays and handles are fitted to the vents and then they're hung on the frames. Once completed they are placed in racks to await final inspection.

Sash corner cleaning line

Once the weld is complete, the vent is sent down the automated cleaning line where it is left to cool. Once cooled each corner is individually cleaned of excess weld and transported to the end of the line.

Beading

At the beading station, a combination of styles and colours of bead are picked and cut to specific length and fitted into vents, doors and fixed frames. They are then placed in racks ready for hanging the vents into the frames.

Final Inspection

A final inspection is carried out on every door and window to ensure that the work has been completed correctly and to Britannia's high quality standards. The windows and doors are then placed in racks ready for despatch.
