Simply StunningOur Conservatories feature hidden weatherseals, which eliminates the ugly appearance of black rubbers. Our competitors source components from different companies, resulting in a mismatch of different colours. By contrast our frames and all of our roof components are the same colour, which provides a beautiful finish. To arrange a visit from one of our fitting specialists, |

Boxing CleverMany conservatories require structural box gutter components. Box gutters are used where the pitch of the roof drops down towards a wall, (common with hipped roofs or adjoining garages). Our box gutters are made of solid aluminium and use a clever twin skin design to eliminate condensation. |

Top CappingWoodgrain conservatories absorb more heat and are liable to expand and shrink. That’s why we use more reinforcing than our competitors and use aluminium top cappings instead of PVCu. |

Roof Glazing
The type of glazing you use will make the biggest single difference to the usability of your conservatory. The main factors to consider are exposure to direct sunlight, privacy, cleaning, comfort, heating and what you want to use the conservatory for.Polycarbonate
Polycarbonate offers more privacy and is considerably cheaper than glass. It doesn’t show the dirt so much from the inside, but it does tend to get dirtier on the outside so requires cleaning at least a couple of times a year. It is available in two different thicknesses 25mm and 35mm. For a small additional cost it is worth upgrading to 35mm which offers superior insulation.
Polycarbonate is available in Bronze, Opal (White), and Clear finishes. Bronze on the outside (reflects the suns glare and doesn’t show the dirt so much) and White on the inside (looks nice) is the most popular choice; this option is called Bronze/Opal.

Glass
The performance of modern roof glass is quite phenomenal. We offer the best performing glass available in the UK, including innovative Self Cleaning glass. It’s no coincidence that the majority of conservatories now have glass roofs. Glass is much quieter (especially when it rains), lets in more light and is easier to keep clean. We offer Self Cleaning glass with a range of tints and different thermal properties. The tables below have been designed to show the most popular options and their performance characteristics.
These are just a few of the many glass options available. The figures stated are based on current performance of Solaglass products. Pilkington also supply equivalent glass specifications.
