Choosing the Right Bi-Fold Doors for your Home

Bi-Fold doors are an ever-growing popular product because they truly transform your indoor and outdoor living space. They are a modern and stylish alternative to the more traditional sliding patio doors. Bi-Fold doors are typically a set of two or more standard size glass doors. They open in a concertina style, and neatly fold flat when closed. They make the threshold between your home and garden invisible which is great for this beautiful sunshine and blue sky we get to enjoy this week! Even when the bi-folds are closed, they let in the maximum amount of light into your home because of the large glass panes and slim frames.  They can be stacked inside or outside the frame and open from the left or right, the choice is yours.

We offer either PVCu or aluminium framed bi-folds.

PVCu

PVCu is the most affordable option and is a good, reliable material. It will keep your home warm and requires little maintenance from you. The standard colour is white but other colours are available.

Aluminium

Aluminium offers a sleek and stylish appearance. It is lightweight and strong which means the frames can be narrow. This allows more space for glass, and therefore more natural light entering your home. This also means the stacking width when the doors are open is less than PVCu. Aluminium is hardwearing and will not be affected by the environment, so is also maintenance free. They are super energy efficient because of an insulating barrier between the inner and outer frame. This means your house does not lose its heat or allow the cold in and will reduce outside noise.

The combination of a multi-point locking system, locking shoot-bolts, high security hinges and thermally toughened glass mean our bi-fold doors are designed to keep the whole family safe.
