Keep your Home Warm this Winter

Keep your Home Warm this Winter

If your windows are old, then you may experience draughts and cold spots throughout the winter months. Here are some tips on keeping homes warm this winter.

  1. Heating

You should try to maintain the temperature in your house, so the heating will be necessary. With our double or triple glazing, the heating will not have to work as hard due to less heat being lost through the doors and windows. This is good for the environment because less fossil fuels will be used.

  1. Furniture

Move furniture away from radiators, even by a couple of inches as this will allow the room to heat up more quickly.

  1. Fan

If you have a fan in your ceiling then try putting it on a low setting in a clockwise direction because this will push the warm air that has risen, back down into your room.

  1. Clothing

Remember to wrap up, get those woolly blankets out and even put a hat on if you must!

  1. Curtains

Open your curtains in the day to let the natural heat from the sun enter and then close your curtains at night to assist with keeping the heat in your home.

  1. Energy Efficient Windows

If you get tired of worrying about draughts every time winter roles around then perhaps you should consider replacing those old windows and doors. We’ve got lots of super energy efficient styles to choose from, to help keep the warmth in and cold outside.
