A lantern roof conservatory is a great way to add natural light to your home without having to commit to full glass. A lantern roof is a rectangular space in your ceiling that has glass panes in the middle that are pitched to emulate a roof shape.
Do roof lanterns lose heat?
A roof lantern may lose a little more heat than an insulated and tiled roof, but at Britannia, we always make sure the double glazed glass we use is as thermally efficient as possible. If you are looking to reduce your heat loss even further, you can opt for triple glazing in your roof lantern, which is ideal for cold climates.
How do you clean a roof lantern?
Because of the location of the lantern, it is best to use a long handled window cleaning product. All you need to do is apply warm soapy water that should get rid of any debris or dirt stuck to the glass.
